Vampoosa / Sanna karapoosa

Gram flour/ Besan – 250 gms,
Rice flour – 2 Tablespoons,
Red chilli powder – 1 Tsp,
Ajwain – 1/2 Tsp,
Jeera – 1/4 Tsp, ( make fine powder of dry fried jeera and ajwain ),
Hing – 2 pinch, ( optional),
Oil to fry,
1).Seive besan and rice flour into a mixing bowl. Add salt, hing, ajwain jeera powder and chilli powder. Mix well.
2).Add a tablespoon of hot oil to flours and mix well.
3).Add water little by little and prepare a semi soft dough. Keep it covered for 15 min.
4).Grease inside of chakli mould and a plate with very tiny holes.
5).Fill the mould with dough ( little less than the capacity of mould ).
6).Drop spirals into hot oil and fry under low medium heat.If one side is fried turn the other side. Remove them onto a tissue paper when they turn golden.
You can add more rice flour if you want them to be more crunchy and crispy. You can use this vampoosa for garnishing chats and rice preparations etc.
