Ingredients:
Raw plantain – 1, washed, peeled and cut into 1″ to 1 and 1/2″ cubes.Immerse them in water to avoid discolouration,
Salt,
Onion – 1, medium, cut into small pieces,
Green chilli – 1, cut vertically into two,
Red chilli powder – 1/2 Tsp,
Haldi – 2 pinches,
Tomato – 1,medium, chopped fine,
Dhania powder – 1 Tsp,
Jeera powder – 1/4 Tsp,
Garam masala – 1/4 Tsp,
Ginger and garlic paste – 1/2 Tsp,
Khus khus – 1 Tsp,
Cashew nuts – 6,
Fresh or dessicated coconut – 1Tablesp,
Oil – 2 Tablesp,
Clove – 2, cardamom – 2, cinnamon – 1/4″ pieces – 2, bay leaf – 1,
Chopped coriander leaves – 1 Tablesp.
Method:
1).Dry fry cashew and khus khus ,add coconut and make them into a fine paste.Keep it aside.
2).Heat oil in pressure cooker, fry cloves, cardamom, cinnamon, bay leaf and fry for few seconds.
3).Add onion, chilli, fry till onion becomes pink and soft.Add Ginger garlic paste and fry for a minute or till raw smell disappears.
4).Add tomato pieces, chilli powder, haldi, dhania powder, jeera powder and fry for few seconds . Add plantain pieces along with 200 ml water.
5).Close the cooker and cook till 2 whistles.
6).When cooker cools down ,open the lid . Add the prepared paste along with garam masala and cook for a minute or two .Mix well and add ittle water if necessary.
7).Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.Serve with rice preparations like pulav / fried rice or rotis like chapathi / poori etc.
Tip:
You can save time and oil if you use cooker.
