Soft and spongy Idli with cooked rice

This idli is prepared with cooked rice ( left over rice will do) .
Ingredients:
Cooked rice – 1 Cup,
Raw rice – 1 Cup, washed and soaked for 4 hrs,
Urad dal – 1/2 Cup, soaked for 2 hrs,
Methi seeds – 1/8 Tsp,soaked along with uard Dal,
Salt,
Baking soda – 1/8 tsp,
Oil to grease idli plates,
Method:
1).Grind the cooked rice first into a smooth paste. Remove it
2).Drain water from dal and grind it with little chilled water to a fine paste.
3).Add rice to the dal paste and grind it to a little course paste.
4).If necessary add 2 tablespoons of chilled water and run the mixie. Add cooked rice and again run the mixie once.Add salt and mix it well. Keep it for fermentation for 4 to 6 hrs or overnight .
5).Next day add 1/8 tsp of baking soda . Check for idli batter consistency.
6).Steam idlis as usual on greased idli plates. Serve with chutney and hot sambar.
Tip:
Use clean round cloth pieces over idli plates to steam idlies. Definitely there will be difference between texture of idlis.
