This is a quick, time saving break fast and healthy too.
Ingredients:
Fine wheat rawa also called bansi rawa – 200 Gms,
Onions – 2,sliced fine,
Green chilli – 3,chopped fine,
Chopped ginger – 1 Tsp,
Curry leaves – 1 sprig,
Jeera – 1/4 Tsp,
Salt,
Oil – 3,Tablesp, or 2 Tablesp oil and 1 Tablesp desi ghee,
Mustard seeds – 1/2 Tsp,
Urad dal split – 1 Tsp,
Channa dal – 2 Tsp,
Tomato – 1,small, sliced fine,
Fresh green peas – 3 Tablesp,
Cashew nuts – 5 to 6, halved, fried in a tsp of oil and keep aside,
Chopped coriander leaves – 1,Tablesp,
Method:
1).Heat oil in kadai, fry mustard seeds, jeera,curry leaves and fry till mustard crackles. Add green chilli, onions, ginger and fry till onion becomes soft.
2).Add peas and fry for few seconds. Add tomato and cook for few seconds till raw smell goes.
3).Mean while side by side keep a bowl with 500 ml water to boil.\
4).Add rawa, salt to kadai, stir and fry for few seconds. Pour the boiling water over rawa, stir continuously till rawa absorbs all the water. Cover with a lid for 2 to 3 minutes stirring once or twice in between till Upma becomes soft and fluffy.Remove.
5).Mix chopped coriander and fried cashew before serving. Serve hot with peanut chutney / coconut chutney.
