Vadium/ sun dried crispies are prepared in large quantity and can be enjoyed through out the year. This healthy vadium is prepared with lobiya beans/ lobiya dal.
Ingredients:
Lobiya beans/ dal – 200 gms,washed and soaked for 3 to 4hrs.
Salt,
Green chilli – 10 ,( you can use red chilli soaked for 10 minutes),
Dhania seeds – 2 tablesp,soaked along with dal,
Hing – 1/8 tsp,
Haldi – 1/8 tsp,
Grated ginger – 1/2 tsp,
Chopped Curry leaves – 1 tablesp,
Jeera – 1 tsp,
Method:
1).Drain water from lobiya and keep it aside.
2).Grind all the ingredients into a course paste.Now add lobiya and grind again using pulse mode into a course paste.
3).Remove the dough, mix thoroughly and drop small portions on a moistened cloth or plastic sheet.Keep it under sun for 2 to 3 days till they are well dried.
4).Fry the required quantity in oil and remove.Serve them as side dish for sambar rice or other rice preparations.
5).You can consume them for 6 months. Do not forget to keep them under sun once or twice as it contains dal.
Tip:
Diabetics also can consume them as side dish as it is protein rich.
