Simple yam curry in Pressure cooker

This curry (Kanda koora in telugu)is mildly spicy and quick to prepare

Ingredients:

Purple Yam-250Gms

Onion-2,Medium,cut into small pieces

Green chillies-2,cut vertically into thin slices

Dhania Seeds-1Tablesp

Jeera-1/2Tsp

Peeled garlic cloves-6 to8

Salt

Red chilli powder-3/4 Tsp

Haldi-A pinch

Lime Juice-1/2Tsp

oil-3Tablesp

Curry leaves-6 to8

Chopped coriander leaves-1Tablesp

Dessicated coconut powder-2Tablesp(optional)

Method:

1).Dry fry dhania seeds,jeera and garlic cloves.Cool and powder them.Keep it aside

2).Peel, wash and cut yam into 1/2″cubes

3).Heat oil in a pressure cooker (preferbly 3lits cooker)add onion, chilli pieces and curry leaves.Fry till onion turns pink and soft

4).Add chilli powder, haldi and yam Pieces along with salt and 200m.l.water.

5).Keep the lid and pressure cook for 2 whistles.Remove the lid and add the preared masala powder and coconut powder.Mix well and keep the cooker for a couple of min under low flame.

6).Sprinkle chopped coriander and lime juice.Mix well and remove.

7)Serve with chapati/poori/dosa/Rice
