Dil Pasand Drumstick Masala
This masala curry is very delicious and goes well with all rice prepartions /chapathi/poori/rotis
Ingredients:
Healthy,fleshy Drumsticks lightly scraped and cut into 3″pieces-15
Onion Medium-3,two roughly chopped and 3rd sliced fine
Green chillies-2, vertically sliced
Dhania powder-1Tablesp
Jeera powder-1/2Tsp
Sompu-1/8Tsp
Tomato puree-1Tablesp
Red Chilli Powder-1Tsp
Ginger and garlic paste-1tsp
Haldi-1/8Tsp
Oil-3 to4Tablesp
Salt
Coconut Paste/Dessicated coconut-2Tablesp
Cloves-3
Cinnamon 1/4″pieces-2
Method
1)Parboil drumsticks in salted water with a pinch of haldi for 5min.Keep them aside along with water
2)Make a fine paste of roughly chopped onion and sompu,keep it asde
2)Heat oil, fry cloves and cinnamon for few seconds,add finely sliced onion pieces along with green chilli
3)Fry onion till pink in colour.Add ginger garlic paste along with onion paste and fry till raw smell disappears
4)Add dhania powder,jeera powder and chilli powder, fry for a min.
5)Add tomato puree and cook for 2min till well blended with masala
6)Add drumsticks along with water in which they were boiled.Cook covered under low flame for5 to6min till the drumsticks are tender
7)Add coconut paste and let it cook for another 2min
7)Check salt,add if necessary
8)Garnish with chopped coriander and serve as a side dish.
9)If you want thin gravy add 50 ml of hot water and keep it on fire for a min.
