Ready Made Masala Powder for Majjiga Pulusu/ Menthi Majjiga

This is a ready made masala powder for preparing majjiga pulusu.Advantage of this ready made powder is you need not worry about split curds while preparing this pulusu

Ingredients:

Channa Dal-3Tablesp

Jeera-1Tsp

Dhania Seeds-1Tablesp

Hing-2Pinches

Salt(you can add salt while preparing pulusu)

Red Chillies-2

Dessicated Coconut Powder-3Tablesp

Method:

1)Dry fry all the ingredients mentioned above as follows

2)Fry channa dal, dhania and jeera one by one till we get nice aroma.Remove

3)Fry chilli and remove

4)Fry coconut powder lightly and add this to above ingredients and prepare a (slightly) course powder.

5)keep it in a clean bottle .Use whenever necessary.

6)This quantity is sufficient for 1litre of buttermilk.

Ingredients:

Thick fresh curds 1/2lit,(make 1lit of well blended butter milk by adding water)

Ready made powder-above prepared quantity

Methi seeds-1/4Tsp

chopped ginger-1/2’piece

salt

Curry Patta Leaves-6to8

Mustard Seeds-1/2Tsp

Oil-2Tablesp

Chopped Coriander Leaves-1Tablesp

Onion-1,Medium,sliced fine

Green Chilies-3,cut vertically into two

Red Chilli-2,broken into pieces

Vegetables like bottle gaurd,potato,chow chow(Bangalore brinjal)keera etc-about 125 to 150gms-peeled,cubed and boiled with little salt and kept ready

Method:

1).Mix the above masala powder with 250ml of water with out any lumps

2)Heat oil ,prepare tadka with mustard seeds,red chilli,curry leaves and methi seeds.Fry till mustard splutters and methi changes colour.Add green chillies,ginger, and onion,Fry till onion turns pink. Add the prepared masala solution.Let it boil under low fire for 2min.

3)As the solution becomes thick, add the buttermilk along with salt and boiled vegetables.Mix well and keep the kadai under low fire

4)Remove kadai when the pulusu just starts boiling

4)Add chopped coriander. Mix well and cover.serve with plain rice.

Tip

We are adding fried ingredients for masala powder.so there no possibility of raw smell.
