Simple Chama gadda iguru / Arbi curry

This curry / iguru is very simple recipe using arbi / colocasia / chama gadda with simple masala usually served with rice preparations.
Ingredients:
Arbi/ chama gadda – 300 gms, washed, peeled and again washed once.Cut into 1 inch cubes. Keep them aside,
Onion – 2 medium, sliced fine,
Green chilli – 2 each slit into 2,
Haldi – 2 pinch,
Salt,
Oil – 3 Tablesp,
Dhania powder – 1 Tablesp,
Tomato – 1 small chopped fine,
Peeled and crushed garlic cloves – 5,
Red chilli powder – 1 tsp,
Curry leaves – few,
chopped coriander leaves – 2 tsp,
Jeera – 2 pinch,
Method:
1).Heat 3 tablesp.of oil in a kadai, add jeera, curry leaves, onion pieces, chilli and fry till onion becomes soft. Add tomato and cook till it becomes pulpy.
2).Add chilli powder, haldi, dhania powder, garlic,salt and fry for 1 minute.
3).Add arbi pieces and fry for a minute. Now add 30 ml of water and stir well. Cover the kadai and allow the curry to cook under low flame. Stir and cook till the arbi becomes soft. If necessary sprinkle 1 or 2 spoons of water over the curry and mix well . Do not allow the curry to get burnt.
4).Sprinkle chopped coriander and remove from fire. Serve this simple masala side dish with rice preparations / roti etc.
Tip:
1).You can peel and cut the arbi after boiling them. But the arbi will become very soft during cooking.
2).I added tomato to minimise the sticky ness of arbi.
3).You can pour little water on the lid to avoid bottom of kadai being burnt.
4).Kids usually enjoy arbi and okra preparations because of their softness.
