This bhaji is a simple recipe with Protein rich Channa dal and capsicum, as a side dish for chapathi / Poori / dosa / any Indian flat bread.
Ingredients:
Green capsicum – 250 Gms, ( washed ,seeds removed and sliced fine ),
Onion – 1 medium, sliced fine,
Green chilli – 2, chopped fine,
Channa dal – 3 Tablesp, washed, soaked in water for 1 hr,
Salt,
Oil – 2 Tablesp,
Haldi – A pinch,
Red chilli powder – 1/4 Tsp,
Jeera – 1/2 Tsp,
Dhania powder – 1/2 Tablesp,
Crushed peeled garlic cloves – 6,
Curry leaves – few,
Chopped coriander – 1 Tablesp,
Mustard seeds – 1/4 Tsp,
Dry fried peanut powder ( husk removed ) – 1 Tablesp,
Method:
1).Heat oil in a non stick kadai, add mustard seeds, jeera, curry leaves, and garlic cloves. Fry for 2 minutes till mustard splutters.
2).Add onion, chilli pieces and channa dal ,haldi with 2 Tablesp of water.
3).Cover the kadai and pour little water on the lid.Cook for 3 to 4 minutes stirring once or twice till the dal is soft but not mashed.
4).Add capsicum , salt, chilli powder and a tablesp of water. Mix all , again cover and cook till the capsicum is soft. Add dhania powder and peanut powder .Mix well and keep it on flame for a minute.
5).Add chopped coriander leaves and remove from flame.
