This cookie is very easy to prepare and healthy as we are using wheat flour in place of maida.. We can prepare it in a kadai / oven.
Ingredients :
Wheat flour – 200 Gms,
Dessicated coconut powder – 3 Tablesp,
Powdered sugar – 3 Tablesp,
Unsalted butter – 3 Tablesp, at room temperature,
Salt – 2 Pinches,( omit if using salted butter )
Baking powder – 1/2 Tsp,
Nuts or tutti frutti to decorate,
Venilla essence – 1/4 Tsp,
Milk to use in dough,
Method:
1).Mix butter ( at room temperature ) and sugar .Blend it with spatula or fork till creamy.
2).Mix wheat flour, coconut powder, essence, baking powder and salt . Now add this flour mix to butter sugar cream. Using hand ,gently prepare a soft dough adding 1 or 2 tablesp of milk while preparing dough.
3).Make a 1/4″ thick roti and cut it into rounds with a biscuit cutter or lid of a small bottle.
4).Arrange them on a greased baking tray . Press some nuts or tutti frutti over them and bake in a preheated oven for 8 minutes or in a thick bottomed kadai for 10 minutes. If necessary you can continue baking for one or two more minutes.
Tip:
My oven is Black and Decker from Amazon.in and time taken for baking is 8 minutes at 180 degree C.
