Drumstick Leaves Dry Curry

Ingredients:

200 g – tender Drumstick leaves
100 g – tur dal
1 onion, medium, cut into small pieces
3 green chilli, cut into small pieces
4 Red Chilli
1 tbsp – til
1 tsp – Dhania seeds
1/2 tsp – Jeera
1/2 tsp – Mustard Seeds
10 Curry leaves
6 Garlic cloves, crushed
1 tbsp – dry Coconut powder
1/8 tsp – Turmeric
salt
1 tbsp – oil

Method:

1 Dry fry the red chillies, til, jeera, coconut powder each separately
2 Make a coarse powder, keep aside
3 Boil drumstick leaves with some salt and turmeric
4 Drain, squeeze out the water if necessary (do not mash).
5 Cook tur dal till it is soft but not mashed
6 Combine leaves and dal gently, keep aside.
7 Heat oil, add mustard seeds, curry leaves, crushed garlic
8 Fry till the seeds splutter
9 Add onion, green chilli and fry for 2 mins till the onion changes colour
10 Add boiled leaves and dal
11 Mix salt, stir well, and cook covered for 2 mins
12 Remove lid and sprinkle the masala powder
13 Mix well and remove.
