This tasty curry is prepared with keera dosa kaya ( Telugu ) / cucumber which is frequently used for salads.Diabetics can have plenty of this vegetable (even raw vegetable ) with out any hesitation.Here we are using pressure cooker with 1 tsp oil.This vegetable contains lots of nutrients which are very much beneficial for our body.
Ingredients:
Tender keera – 4,approximately 300 Gms,washed, peeled, and cut into 1 inch cubes after discarding the seeds portion,
Onion – 2,medium, sliced fine,
Green chilli – 3, chopped fine,
Jeera – 1/4 TSP,
Dhania powder – 1/2 TSP,
Salt,
Haldi – A pinch,
Mustard seeds – 1/4 Tsp
Red chilli – 1, broken into pieces,
Curry patta leaves – Few,
Oil – 1 TSP,
Tomato – 1,small,cut into small pieces,( optional ),
Chopped coriander leaves – 1 Tablesp,
Peeled garlic – 2 to 3,
Besan – 1 Tablesp mixed with 2 Tablesp of water.
Method:
1).Heat oil in (3 litres ) pressure cooker,add mustard, jeera, red chilli, garlic and curry leaves.Fry till mustard crackles.
2).Add haldi, onion, chilli and fry till onion becomes soft .Add keera and tomato pieces along with salt and dhania powder.
3).Add 300 ml water and cook for 3 whistles.
4).After the steam escapes , remove the lid and put the cooker again on fire .Add the besan water when curry starts boiling.
5).Let it be on fire for a minute and remove.Sprinkle chopped coriander.If you think the gravy is thick add little water and keep it on fire for another minute.
6).Serve with poori / Chapathi .Can be served with idli / dosa also.
Tip:
Do not keep the curry on fire for long as it becomes lumpy.
