Ingredients:
Kabuli Channa / chick pea – 125 Gms,( washed and soaked for 4hrs),
Onion – 1 medium,sliced fine,
Green chilli – 2,chopped fine,
Red chilli – 1,
Jeera – 1/4 TSP,
Mustard seeds – 1/4 TSP,
Curry leaves – 5 to 6,
Chopped coriander leaves – 2 Tsp,
Oil – 2 TSP,
Peeled garlic – 6,crushed roughly,
Salt.
Method:
1).Heat oil in pressure cooker (preferably 2/3 litres cooker) add mustard seeds,red chilli,curry leaves,jeera and garlic,
2).Fry till mustard splutters,add onion,chilli and fry till onion turns soft .
3).Add drained Channa , 2 pinches salt and 30 ml water.Cook for 3/4 whistles ,remove from fire and allow the steam to escape..
4).Check salt and tenderness of Channa.If there is any moisture remaining ,keep the cooker for a min or two on fire.If necessary sprinkle a pinch of salt and mix well.
5).Sprinkle coriander ,mix and remove.
6).Serve this protein rich tasty snack with evening tea.
Tip:
Instead of 2 steps = boiling Channa and preparing tadka ,the above method reduces time with minimum oil.
