Sora Kaya / Aanapa Kaya (in Telugu / Louki in Hindi / Bottle gourd in English is a bit neglected vegetable.But this gourd has got good fibre content along with lot of health benefits.we can prepare many variaty of recipes using this Vegetable.This koftha is prepared using this vegetable in Air fryer.
Ingredients:
Tender Sora Kaya / Louki – 1,approximately about 250 to 300 Gms,
Besan/ Gram flour – 4 Tablesp,
Green chilli – 3,chopped fine,
Haldi – A pinch,
Salt,
Dhania powder – 1 TSP,
Jeera powder – 1/4 TSP,
Ginger garlic paste – 1/4 TSP,
Garam masala – 1/4 TSP,
Chopped coriander leaves – 1 Tablesp,
Oil for greasing wire basket of air fryer and brushing the koftha – 2 to 3 TSP,
Method:
1).Peel the Louki and grate it fine.Sqeeze the gratings and remove all the water content.Keep it in a plate.
2).Add all the ingredients to Louki along with 1tsp of oil and blend well to form a smooth dough.
3).Pre heat the air fryer for 4 min at 200 degree C.
4).Mean while prepare ( a little bigger than ) goose berry size balls out of the prepared dough.
5).Grease the wire basket of air fryer with little oil . Arrange the koftha on it, brush them with oil and fry them at 180 degree C for 15 minutes.
6).Shake the basket gently once or twice during frying period.Check after 15 min.If necessary continue frying for another 2 to 3 min.
7).Use them for preparing koftha curries / enjoy like snack.
Tip:
I arranged these balls on a greased butter paper for the first 5 minutes to allow them to become a bit dry.Later I removed the paper and left them on greased basket for the remaining period.( Just to avoid the soft balls sticking to the wire mesh).
