This is a very tasty rawa upma with fibre rich string beans or green beans,
Ingredients:
Suji / semolina / Bombay rawa – 150 Gms,( dry fried ),
Onion – 1,medium,sliced fine,
Green chillies – 3,cut into small pieces,
Ginger – 1/2″ chopped fine,
Chopped coriander leaves – 1 Tablesp,
Green beans – 6 to 7,chopped fine,
Oil – 1 Tablesp,
Ghee – 1 Tablesp,
Tomato puree – 2 Tablesp ( optional),
Salt,
Cloves – 2,
Cinnamon – 1/4″ sticks 2,
Cashew nut bits – 1 Tablesp,( fried in a drop of ghee),
Mustard seeds – 1/2 Tsp,
Split urad dal – 1/2 Tsp,
Curry patta leaves – 6 to 8,
Method:
1).Heat oil+ ghee in a kadai.Add mustard seeds,cloves,cinnamon, urad dal and curry leaves .Fry for few seconds till mustard seeds splutter.
2).Add onion,chillies and ginger with a pinch of salt.Fry till onion turns pink.Add beans and cover to cook till they turn tender.Sprinkle little water if necessary.
3).Add rawa,mix well and fry for a second.Add 500 Ml of hot water to rawa along with a tablesp of tomato puree and salt.Stir continuously to avoid formation of lumps.
4).Cover and let it cook for 2 to 3 min till the moisture is completely absorbed by rawa.
5).Sprinkle coriander leaves and fried cashew nuts.Remove from fire and serve hot with any chutney / sambar.
