Whole lime pickle

Ingredients:

Limes – 10 + 5, Medium size,

Red chilli powder – 2 Tablesp,

Haldi – 1 Tsp,

Salt – 2 Tablesp,

Ginger and garlic paste – 1Tsp,

Sesame oil – 50 ml,

Mustard powder – 1 Tsp,

Method:

1).Cut each lime into 4 parts ,keeping lower 1/4 th of the lime intact.Keep them aside,(cut 10 limes like this),

2).Mix all powders along with ginger garlic paste and stuff a little of this masala into each lime.Gently press them so that the stuffing does not come out.Keep them aside,

3).Put them in a wide mouthed glass bottle.

4).Collect juice from remaining 5 limes and remove seeds. Mix it with remaining masala and oil and pour this over the limes.Shake the bottle gently so that the masala( with oil) will nicely coat the limes,

5).Keep it for 3 days shaking the bottle once or twice.Keeps fresh for 10 days if kept in fridge.Best served with curd rice.

Tip:

You can give tadka with 1 tsp of mustard seeds and curry leaves in a tsp of oil.
