Cucumber Curry in Pressure cooker with no Oil
Ingredients:
Cucumber – 2,about 400Gms,Yellow round variety available in Andhra area,
Onion – 1, Medium,chopped fine,
Split Mung dal with out husk – 3Tablesp,soaked in water for 1/2 hr,
Green chillies – 3,cut into pieces,
Chopped coriander – 1Tablesp,
Red chilli powder – 1Tablesp,
HaldI – 1/8Tsp,
Salt,
Dhania powder – 1Tablesp,(dry fried and powdered),
Jeera powder – 1/4Tsp,(dry fried and powdered).
Method:
1).Wash,peel and cut cucumber into 1″ cubes along with seeds. Keep it aside,
2).Put all the ingredients in pressure cooker(preferbly 3 litres one).Add 2 tablesp of water,mix well,
3).Pressure cook the curry for 2 whistles.Let the steam escape,
4).Remove the lid and mix well and garnish with chopped coriander,
5).Serve this simple ,quick and oil free curry With plain rice/chapathi/poori,
Tip:
Before cooking, test a piece of cucumber for bitterness and discard if necessary.
