Ingredients:
Tender moringa leaves – 50 to 60 gms, leaves picked from stalks, washed thoroughly and put in collander to drain out water.
Salt,
Oil – 2 to 3 tablesp,
Onion – 2 medium, cut into small pieces,
Urad dal – 1 Tablesp,
Tomato – medium, 1,roughly cut into pieces,
Red chilli – 6 to 7,
Dhania seeds – 1 tablesp,
Jeera – 1/2 tsp,
Peeled garlic – 5 cloves,
Hing – 2 pinch,
Peanuts – 2 tablesp,dry fried and skin removed,
Method:
1).Heat oil in a kadai, add urad dal, red chilli, jeera, dhania seeds, fry under low flame till dal changes colour and releases nice aroma.
2).Add onion pieces, tomato pieces along with hing, garlic and fry till they become little mushy. Now add moringa leaves and fry well till raw smell disappears. Cool the ingredients.
3). First coursly powder the peanuts in a blender, add the fried ingredients along with salt, coriander leaves and tamarind paste. Grind them into a fine course paste.
4).No need to give tadka. It is optional. Serve this very healthy, tasty and spicy chutney with hot plain rice with little desi ghee/ break fast items like idli, dosa, upma, pongal etc.
Tip:
a).You can add raw onion pieces to prepared paste in blender and pulse once or twice to enhance the taste.
