Quick khara chutney without raw smell ( using microwave oven).

Khara chutney/ yerra patchdi is a favourite side dish for break fast items for many people in Andhra..It is an easy preparation with easily available ingredients in our kitchen. Most of the people prepare it by blending all the ingredients and serve this raw chutney with break fast items like dosa, idli, etc.Some people add tadka and cook it to remove raw smell. Another method is frying the ingredients first and blend them later. Tempering is added if you desire.Here iam cooking the ingredients in microwave oven and later grinding in blender. If microwave oven is available you can follow this quick procedure.
Ingredients:
Onion – 3, medium, roughly chopped,
Red chilli – 8 to 10 ( you can add 1 or 2 bydigi chilli for good colour )
Salt,(add while grinding ),
Oil – 1 Tablesp,
Jeera – 1/2 tsp,
Dhania seeds – 2 tsp,
Firm red tomato – 2, medium, chopped roughly,
Peeled garlic cloves – 6,
Tamarind – 1/4 inch piece,( optional),
For tempering – 2 pinch of mustard seeds, pinch of jeera, 1 red chilli, a sprig of curry leaves and oil.( Tempering is optional ).
Method:
1).Keep all ingredients ( for chutney ) in a micro safe bowl and cook them micro high for 3 minutes. If necessary cook for one more minute.
2).Remove the bowl from oven and allow it to cool.Put the ingredients in blender and grind them fine along with salt.
3).Prepare tadka and add it to the ground chutney. Serve it with break fast items like idli/ dosa/ pongal/ upma etc.
Tip:
a).You can spread this chutney on any dosa while preparing.
b).You can adjust the timings according to your oven power.
