This lip smacking chutney is very easy to prepare and can be served with almost all break fast items especially south indian.
Ingredients:
Fresh curd – 400 Gms,
Salt,
Onion – 2,medium,sliced fine,
Green chilli – 4,
Chopped ginger – 1/4 inch,
Garlic cloves – 3,
Jeera powder – 2 pinch,
Dhania seeds – 2 Tsp,
Methi seeds – 5 no,
White til – 1 Tablesp,( dry fried and powdered ),
Oil – 3 Tablesp
Hing – 2 pinch,
Haldi – 1/4 tsp,
Curry leaves – few,
Chopped coriander leaves – 1 Tablesp,
Red chilli – 1,
Mustard seeds – 2 pinch,
Method:
1).Whisk curd well and add til powder,again mix well. keep it aside,
2).Heat a tablesp of oil, fry green chilli, garlic, ginger, dhania seeds,jeera, 1/2 tablesp chopped coriander leaves and prepare a little course paste. Keep it aside.
3).Heat remaining oil, add hing,methi seeds, red chilli, curry leaves and fry till mustard crackels. Add onion, salt and fry till onion becomes soft.
4).Now add ground paste and fry for a minute. Add blended curd and cook under low flame for 2 minutes. By this time the chutney becomes thick and little sauce like. Sprinkle chopped coriander leaves and remove from fire. Serve with break fast items like idli, dosa,Pongal and upma etc.It can even be served with hot plain rice with a tsp of desi ghee.
Tip:
Use only fresh curd.
