Urad dal mini dumplings / minapa punugulu

This is an easy tea time snack and also a starter recipe.
Ingredients:
Urad dal whole or split with out husk – 150 Gms ( washed and soaked fohrs ),
Fine suji/ semolina – 1 Tablesp,
Green chilli – 3,chopped fine,
Onion – medium 1, cut into small pieces,
Ginger – Chopped 1/2 Tsp,
Curry leaves – 4 to 5 chopped fine,
Chopped coriander leaves – 1 Tsp,
Salt,
Oil to deep fry.
Method:
1).Drain and grind the soaked dal to a fine paste .Add suji, salt and blend well.
2).Add remaining ingredients except oil and mix well with clean hand.
3).Add a pinch of baking soda and blend well.
4).Check salt and drop small portions of dough into hot oil .Fry them under low medium heat till light golden in colour.Remove them on to a kitchen tissue to absorb oil if any.
5).Enjoy the crispy punugulu with any chutney or sauce.
Tip:
1).Punugulu will be more tastier if you use split dal with husk. After soaking the dal remove the husk ( 3/4th) and proceed.Actually with little husk in the dough is healthy and tasty.
