Ingredients:
Medium size karela – 6,
Salt,
Coriander powder – 1Tablesp,
Jeera powder – A pinch,
Red chilli powder – 1Tsp,
Haldi – A pinch,
Amchur powder – 1/8 Tsp,
Besan – 2 Tablesp,
Rice flour – 2 Tablesp,
Corn flour – 1 Tablesp,
Chat masala/ garam masala – 2 pinch,
Oil – 1Tablesp,( for masala and for greasing the basket ),
Sugar – 1 TSP.( Optional ).
Method:
1).Wash, lightly scrape karela, cut them into roundels , rub little salt over them and wait for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes gently squeeze out the water from karela and keep them aside. (This will remove some of the bitterness of karela ).
2).Preheat the air fryer at 200 degree C for 4 minutes.Grease the basket and keep it ready.
3).In a bowl mix all the masalas with remaining oil and coat this paste throughly over the karela pieces.
4).Arrange the coated karela in the greased Air fryer basket without overlapping and fry them under 180 degree C for 12 minutes. Toss them once or twice in between . Check the crispness and continue for 2 more minutes if necessary.
5).Sprinkle sugar over prepared chips.Serve with hot sambar rice/ as snack / side dish.
Tip:
a).Mine is Philips air fryer. Frying time may vary from air fryer to air fryer, hence proceed accordingly.
