Ingredients:
Country chicken – 400 Gms,( cleaned and cut into bite size pieces ),
Onion – 3, medium size,sliced fine,
Green chilli – 3, each slit into 2,
Red chilli powder – 1 TSP,
Haldi – 1/8 TSP,
Salt,
Oil – 2 Tablesp,
Ginger garlic paste – 1/2 TSP,
Dhania powder – 1 Tablesp,
Garam masala – 1/4 Tsp,
Cloves – 4,
Cinnamon – 3 small pieces,
Thick curd – 2 Tablesp,
Curry leaves – few,
Chopped coriander leaves – 1 Tablesp,
Method:
1).Take a 3 litres pressure cooker, place chicken pieces, ginger garlic paste, haldi, dhania powder, red chilli powder, (one)sliced onion pieces, cloves, cinnamon, curd and salt. Mix well and close the cooker loosely and let it cook under low heat for 2 minutes. ( Mix once after a minute).
2).Mix well and add 300 ml of water.Close the lid and pressure cook the chicken for 4 whistles under low medium heat.
3).When the steam is released, open the cooker. ( Usually there will be some moisture remains with the curry) . Keep the cooker aside.
4).Heat 2 tablesp of oil in a non stick pan.Add green chilli, onions and curry leaves ,fry under low flame till onion becomes pink and soft.
5).Add cooked chicken to the onion along with gravy. Add garam masala .Mix well and fry the chicken till dry. Garnish with chopped coriander .Serve this delicious chicken fry as side dish for rice preparations/ roti recipes.
Tip:
If meat is tender 4 whistles will be enough.If necessary you can prolong the cooking time by allowing more whistles.
