This is a quick snack item prepared in Air fryer with minimum oil. We can also deep fry the potato wedges in oil or bake them in oven.
Ingredients:
Potato – 4 medium or little bigger ones,( washed ,cut each into wedges along with skin and immersed in water. ),
Salt,
Red chilli flakes – 1/2 Tsp,
Chat masala – 1/4 Tsp,
Black pepper powder – 1/4 uTsp,
Garlic powder -‘2 pinches,( or crushed garlic ),
Rice flour or ground poha flour – 1 Tablesp,
oil – 2 to 3 Tsp,
Method:
1).Boil the potato pieces in water with little salt for 6 to 7 minutes just till they turn little tender. Drain and keep aside in a mixing bowl.
2).Pre heat the Air fryer for 6 minutes at 180 degree C.
3).Sprinkle chilli flakes, pepper powder, chat masala, garlic powder and rice flour. Drizzle 2 tsp of oil over them.
5).With clean hands gently rub the masalas over the pieces so that each and every piece is coated with the masala.
6).Grease the wire basket of fryer with little oil and arrange the potato wedges in the basket.
7).Fry the wedges for 15 minutes at 180 Degree C ,tossing them twice or thrice in between till they turn light golden in colour and crisp.
8).Continue frying if necessary for few more minutes. Serve as snack with tomato ketchup or as side dish for any rice preparation like sambar rice etc.
Tip:
Desi dip – Add a tablesp of avakaya masala to well blended 4 tablesps curd and mix well.Sprinkle little chopped coriander leaves and dry fried crushed jeera powder.Tastes great with wedges.
