Butter milk Biscuits with wheat flour

These biscuits are usually made with all purpose flour. Here I have used mainly whole wheatflour. These biscuits are very tasty with flaky texture and can be enjoyed as a tea time snack.
Ingredients:
Wheat flour – 150 Gms,
All purpose flour – 50 Gms,
Powdered sugar – 2 Tsp,
Butter or dalda / vanaspathi – 5 Tablesp,( 75 Gms ) ( keep it in fridge for 20 minutes ),
salt 1/2 Tsp,
Vanilla essence – 1/4 Tsp,
Chilled butter milk – 100 ml / 120 ml cold milk + 1 tsp vinegar to curdle it.
Baking powder – 1 and 1/2 Tablesp,
Method:
1).Grease a baking tray with butter or dalda and keep it ready.
2).Mix both the flours with baking powder , sugar ,essence, and salt.
3).With the help of a grater, grate cold vanaspathi into the flour . Mix gently with fingers until dalda well distributed into the flour.
4).Pour the butter milk into the flour little by little and gently roll into a ball.
5).Put it on kitchen platform and dust little flour on it. Pat the dough ball with hand into a 1/2″ thick round.Do not over Knead.
6).Cut it into 2″ to 2 and 1/2″ rounds with biscuit cutter or lid of any bottle. Gather the surrounding pieces and again make a thick round and cut it into small rounds. In the same way make use of entire dough.
7).Arrange them on a greased baking tray .Give a buttermilk wash and bake them in preheated oven for 15 minutes at 180 degree C.If necessary continue baking for another two to three minutes.( My oven is Black and Decker ).
