Khus khus kheer

This delicious kheer is prepared with khus khus, rice and coconut along with jaggery.
Ingredients:
Raw rice – 1 Tablesp, ( preferably basamathi rice ),
Khus khus. – 1 Tablesp,
Fresh coconut gratings – 5 Tablesp,
Jaggery powder – 125 Gms,
Cardamom powder – 1/2 Tsp,
Milk – 100 ml,
Cashew bits, almond slivers, raisins – 2 Tsp each,
Saffron – few strands ( optional ), mixed with little milk ,
Ghee – 3 Tsp , ( 1 Tsp for frying nuts and raisins, remaining for adding to prepared kheer ),
Method:
1).Dry fry the khus khus and rice separately and soak them in water for 1/2 hour.
2).Grind rice, coconut and khus khus to a smooth paste.
3).Melt jaggery in 300 ml.water and allow it to boil. Add the ground paste with remaining ghee and stir continuously under low flame till every thing is well blended and become smooth and creamy. Add cardamom powder and mix well.
4).Remove from flame .Cool , add milk and stir well.Sprinkle saffron mixed milk over kheer.
5).Garnish with nuts and raisins.Serve warm.
