This is a simple chutney with tindli / dondakaya ( in Telugu ). Here i used microwave oven to make it quickly with minimum oil.
Ingredients:
Tindli or tindora or dondakaya – 150 Gms, ( washed, chopped roughly ),
Onion – 1,medium, sliced fine,
Green chilli – 4, each cut into two,
Red chilli – 1, broken into pieces,
Salt,
Tamarind paste – 1 Tsp,
Tomato – 1, medium, chopped fine,
Jeera – 1/2 Tsp,
Peeled garlic – 6,
Mustard seeds – 1/4 Tsp,
Curry leaves – few,
Dry fried and peeled ground nuts – 1 Tablesp,
Chopped coriander – 1/2 Tablesp,
Hing – A pinch, ( optional ),
Oil – 2 Tsp,
Method:
1).Take tindli, tomato, onion, green chilli, garlic and jeera in a microwave glass bowl.
2).Cook them under micro high for 4 minutes.Stir once and again micro high for a minute.
3).Remove from oven and keep it aside to cool.
4).Powder the ground nuts in a mixie , add the tindli mix along with salt and tamarind pulp to prepare a course paste.
5).Remove the chutney into a bowl.Prepare tadka with mustard seeds, redchilli, and curry leaves.
6).Add this tadka to prepared chutney.Garnish with corinder leaves.Serve this yummy chutney with break fast items like dosa/ idli/ poori/ hot plain rice with little ghee.
Tip:
You can fry the onion pieces in tadka for variation.
