This jowar roti is very healthy; and easy to prepare. This roti is a papular item in Rayslaseema cuisine. For the beginers it may be a bit difficult to prepare but with little practice one can master it. Usually it is served with famous rayalaseema dal with lots of green chillies.( This dal recipe Patchi mirapakayala pappu / Green chilli Dal is already entered my recipe list .you can check it).
Ingredients:
Jonna pindi / Jowar flour – 1 Cup,
Wheat flour – 1 Tablesp,
Salt,
Method:
1).Heat 1 and 1/2 cup water with little salt.
2).When it starts boiling, add jowar flour along with wheat flour.Mix Quickly and switch off flame.
3).Cover for a min. After a minute knead the dough very well.
4).Divide the dough into equal sized balls without cracks.
5).press them in poori press / chapati press and cook the rotis on ( preferably ) a cast iron tawa, pressing with a wet cloth while frying. Cook on both sides till light brown spots appear. Store them in a casserole in a cloth cover. .
6).I found it easy to use the poori press for preparing these roti.You can prepare the roti with belan or with hand ( pressing and spreading the roti ) in the usual traditional way.
7).Best served with dal preparations.For non vegetarians serve with chicken or mutton gravies.

Best and healthy option fo diabetics as breakfast item / in lunch or dinner to reduce quantity of rice.
