Pesara Boorelu. / Sweet moong bonda

These boorelu / sweet bonda are prepared with moong dal with out skin.Here iam using moong beans and jaggery.
Ingredients:
Moong beans – 125 GMs, soaked minimum for 6 hrs/ overnight,
Jaggery powder – 125 GMs,
Dosa batter – 125 GMs,
Salt,
Cardamom powder – 1/2 TSP,
Dessicated coconut powder/ grated coconut – 3 Tablesp,
Cashew nut bits – 1 Tablesp,( optional ),
Oil to deep fry,
Method:
1).Wash the moong beans once and boil it in pressure cooker for 4 whistles.
2).After steam escapes remove the beans and grind it in a mixie to a course paste.
3).Add cardamom powder, jaggery powder and coconut ,pulse the mixie 2 to 3 times.Remove the paste into a bowl.Add cashew if using and mix well.
4).Make goose berry size balls out of the dough.Add pinch of salt to the dosa batter.
5).Dip each ball in the batter and fry under low medium heat till light golden in colour.
6).Remove the bonda / boorelu on a kitchen tissue to absorb excess oil.
7).Serve these boorelu hot as tea time snack.
Tip:
a).Drizzle some ghee on these sweet bonda and serve hot especially for kids.
b).For dosa batter – grind the (6hrs ) soaked raw rice and urad dal in 4:1 proportions , (with a pinch of methi seeds ) ,into a smooth paste.Let it ferment for 2 to 3 hrs and use it as covering.
