This healthy moong beans snack can easily be prepared in pressure cooker in a single step.
Ingredients :
Moong beans – 125 GMs,soaked in water minimum for 6hrs/ overnight,
Onion – 1,medium,sliced fine,
Green chilli – 3,chopped fine,
Peeled garlic cloves – 4,crushed roughly,
Mustard seeds – 1/4 Tsp,
Urad dal with out husk – 1/2 TSP,
Salt,
Red chilli – 1,
Curry leaves – few,
Oil – 1 Tablesp,
Coconut gratings – 1,Tablesp ( fresh or dessicated -optional ),
Method:
1).Heat oil in (3 litres ) pressure cooker add mustard seeds, urad dal, curry leaves, garlic along with red chilli and fry for a few seconds.Add onion, chilli and fry till onion is little soft.
2).Add drained moong beans and salt along with 30ml water.
3).Mix well and cook till 3 whistles .Allow the steam to escape.
4).Remove lid and sprinkle chopped coriander and coconut.( If there is any moisture left keep the cooker on fire for a minute ).
5).Mix well and serve with Tea / as snack for kids.A good snack for diabetics also.
Tip:
You can allow the beans to sprout and later prepare sundal.
