This tikki is a protein and fibre rich tasty snack prepared in air fryer with minimum oil.
Ingredients:
Vaal beans / Anapa ginjalu (in Telugu) -100 Gms,
Potato – 1,medium,
Fresh green peas – 50 Gms,
Garam masala – 1/4 TSP,
Salt,
Green chilli – 2, chopped finely,
Ginger and garlic paste – 1/4 TSP,
Chopped coriander leaves – 2 TSP,
Oil – 2 to 3 TSP for the dough for preparing tikki and for greasing.
Amchur – A pinch,
Rice flour – 1 Tablesp
Method:
1).Put Vaal beans in 3 litres Pressure cooker with 30 ml of water.Keep potato and peas in a long steel container.sprinkle little water on peas.
2).Keep the container in cooker on one side so that it does not rest on beans.
3).pressure cook them for 3 whistles.
4).After steam escapes remove the lid.Drain the beans and peas along with potato ( if any water remaining in the cooker or container).
5).Grind the vegetables in a mixie to a course paste and thoroughly blend the remaining ingredients with the paste (except oil).
6).Mean while Pre heat the air fryer for 4 minutes at 200 degree C.
7).With little oil on the fingers make round tikki out of the ground paste.
8).Arrange them on the greased wire basket with out overlapping . Drizzle or smear little oil over them and air fry them for 12 minutes at 180 degree C.Turn the tikki once during frying and continue frying till light golden in colour.If necessary extend the frying time.
9).Serve as starter / evening snack with tea.
Tip:
I prefer to arrange the tikki on a greased steel or aluminium plate for frying just to avoid repeated cleaning of wire basket.
