Pesara ( moong) boorelu for diabetics and dieters

These boorelu or dumplings are prepared with sweet moong dal stuffing with coating of dosa batter.Instead of sugar we are using sugar free (sucralose) powder.y
Ingredients:
Moong dal with out husk – 250 Gms,
Sugar free powder – 3 TSP (sucralose),
Cardamom powder – 1/4 Tsp,
Almond slivers – 1 TsP,
Sugar less mawa / khoya – 2 Tablesp,
Oil to deep fry,
Dosa batter – 250 Gms,(approximately),
Salt – A pinch for batter,
Method:
1).Wash and boil dal till tender.Grind it into a nice paste along with cardamom and sugar free powders.
2).Mix dal paste with khoya and almond slivers thoroughly. Make large goose berry size balls.Keep them aside.
3).Keep the dosa batter a little thick as it should coat the moong balls completely.
4).Dip each ball in the batter and drop it in hot oil to fry under medium heat .Remove them when they turn light golden in colour.
5).Place them on a kitchen paper to absorb excess oil.
6).Serve them as tea time snack (or in thalis ) in moderate portions.
7).If the sweet is for non diabetics use jaggery in place of sugar free powder.
Tip:
A).For dosa batter grind soaked ( for 3 hrs ) raw rice 200 gms and urad dal 75 gms into a thick batter. Use it after an hr.You can also use previous day’s dosa batter if available.
B).Use spoon with long handle to lift the coated balls from the batter as it is a bit uneasy to use fingers.
