This is a simple and yummy sweet,can easily be prepared .The ingredients used in this sweet are usually available in every house.
Ingredients:
Channa dal/ gram dal – 1cup,wash and soak it in water for 15 min.
Sugar – 1 and 1/2 cup,
Cardamom powder – 1/2 Tsp,
Cashew / badam slivers – 1 Tablesp each,
Ghee – 3 Tablesp,
Fresh coconut gratings – 1/2 cup,( I used dessicated coconut powder ),
Method:
1).Cook the Channa dal in pressure cooker with 250 ml water for 3 whistles. Drain and grind it into a course Paste.
2).Add coconut to the dal paste in mixie and pulse it 2 To 3 times.Keep it aside.(fresh coconut is to be toasted in a tsp of ghee before adding ).
3).Prepare thick sugar syrup’with sugar and little water.
4).Add the dal coconut paste along with elachi powder and ghee. Cook under low heat till the entire mixture is well blended and becomes a non sticky mass.
5).Add some portion of nuts to the mixture and mix well.
6).Drop the burfi on a greased tray and garnish with the remaining nuts.
7).Cut the sweet into desired shapes.Keeps good for 3 to 4 days,one week if kept in fridge.
