Spicy Curry with Left over pakoda
This curry is prepared with left over besan pakoda.This sweet and tangy curry(pakoda pulusu in telugu) is very easy to prepare.
Ingredients:
Besan and onion pakoda-200Gms
Onion-1,Medium,sliced thin
Green chillies-2,cut vertically into slices
Dhania powder-1Tsp
Methi seeds-2 pinches
Mustard seeds-1/2Tsp
Curry patta leaves-2 sprigs
Chopped coriander leaves-2Tsp
Tamarind paste-1Tablesp
Powdered Jaggery-1Tablesp
Haldi-A pinch
Red chilli powder-1Tsp
Salt for Gravy
Oil-2Tablesp
Hing-A Pinch
Rice flour/cooked toor dal-1Tablesp(make a thin paste with either of them)
Method:
1).Heat oil,add hing,methi seeds,mustard seeds and curry leaves.Fry till mustard seeds splutter and methi gives nice aroma.Add onion and green chilli, fry till onion turns pink and soft.
2).Add dhania powder,chilli powderand haldi.Fry for few sec.and add tamarind paste along with 200 m.i water.
3).Add salt and pakoda when it starts boiling.cook under low heat for 6 to8 min till the pakoda absorbs some of the gravy.
4).Now add rice flour solution/dal water to the gravy and let it cook under low heat for another 1to2min.Stir the curry quickly and continously so that the paste doesnt stick to the bottom
5).Add chopped coriander and Remove from fire. Serve with hot plain rice with a tsp of ghee/chapathi/puri/dosa.
6)Tastes great and a sure hit with kids.
Tip:
Reduce chilli powder for kids.
