Spicy Channa Dal Fry

Ingredients:

Channa dal-300gms.

Baking Soda-1/8TsP.

Red Chilli Powder-1TsP.

Fried and crushed jeera powder-1/4Tsp.

Salt.

oil to deep fry.

Method:

1)Wash and soak dal in plenty of water for 4hrs along with soda.

2)Drain and spread them on a clean dry cloth for 20min.

3)Heat oil in a wide kadai,

4)Deep fry the dal (in 2 batches) till crisp and golden in colour under medium high heat.

5)Remove the dal on to a paper napkin to absorb excess oil if any.

6)Tranfer the dal into a basin and add salt,chilli powder and jeera powder.

7)Toss the basin well so that the masala coats the dal throughly.

8)Fry few curry leaves in the same oil,crush them and sprinkle over the fried dal.(optional).

9)Serve as evening snack/mix with chats etc.
