Pickled Rice Bath,(a very spicy rice preparation).
ingredients:
cooked rice-2cups (should be fluffy and grains should be saperate).
Any pickle preferbly Avakaya-50gms,(or more).
onion-1-medium-sliced fine.
Jeera-1/2tsp.
salt(if necessary).
Ghee-2tablesp.
curry leaves-a small bunch.
chopped coriander-1tablesp.
Fried ground nuts/cashew bits- 1tablesp each.
white til-2tablesp,dry fried and powdered.
Method.:
1).keep cooked rice ready.
2).Add pickle to rice,mix well with a spoon(i prefer hand)and
keep it aside.
3).Heat ghee,add mustard seeds,jeera,curry leaves,fry till
mustard crackles.
4).Add onion,fry till it turns pink and soft.
5).Add til powder, tadka and nuts to the rice. Mix throughly so
that everything is blended well.
6).Check salt.Garnish with chopped coriander.
7).Serve this bath with any raitha.
8).you can use leftover rice.
9).can be prepared in a jiffy.
10).As the pickle already contains oil,only 2tablesp.of ghee
is enough to make the bath tasty and flavourful.
