Urad dal chutney

Ingredients:

200gms – urad dal(dehusked)
6 – red chilli
6 – garlic cloves
1/4tsp – jeera
1/2tsp – thick tamarind paste
1 – onion, medium chopped fine
salt
For temparing:
1tbsp – oil
1/2tsp – mustard seeds
hing a pinch
10 – curry patta leaves

Method:

1.Dry fry urad dal till it gives a nice aroma, remove from fire & cool
2.Fry 1tsp oil fry red chilli, jeera & garlic for 1min
3.Make a course powder in mixie, add fried urad dal to the above powder,
4.Pour some water, salt & tamarind paste,run mixie for 2min to get a course paste
5.Lastly add onion & run mixie for 10 sec & remove the chutney into a bowl
6.Heat remaining oil put mustard seeds, hing & curry patta leaves
7.Wait till the seeds splutter, add coriander leaves & pour this over chutney, mix well
8.Serve with plain rice along with a spoonful of ghee
