Ingredients:
400 gms – purple Yam (kanda in telugu), peel and rub with some salt, cut into 1 to 1.5-inch pieces
2 medium-size onions, cut into small pieces
2 green chillies, cut into pieces

1 tbsp – coriander powder (dry fried and powdered)
6-8 Cloves garlic, peeled and crushed
2 tbsp – oil
10 Curry leaves
1 tbsp – chopped, coriander
1/2 tbsp – Red Chilli powder
1/8 tsp – Turmeric powder
Method:
1 Heat oil in a cooker. Add onion, green chillies, turmeric powder and curry leaves.
2 Fry till onion becomes soft and pink.
3 Add yam and fry for 2 mins. Then add red chilli powder, salt and fry for a minute.
4 Add 300 ml water, stir well and pressure cook up to 3 whistles.
5 Let cooker cool, remove lid and return to the fire. Add coriander powder, crushed garlic, cover and simmer for 2 mins.
6 Sprinkle chopped coriander, mix once and serve.
