Ingredients:
200g – groundnuts
8 – green chillies
1/4tsp – cummin
Salt
1/2 tsp – tamarind paste
6 – garlic cloves
For tempering:
1tsp – oil
1 – red chilli
1/4tsp – mustard seeds
1/2tsp – urad dal
10 – curry leaves
Method:
1.Dry fry groundnuts, remove husk & keep aside.
2.Dry fry green chilli (prick them with needle before frying)
3.Grind the ingredients (except the tempering ones) to a fine paste
4.Heat oil, add mustard seeds, red chilli pieces, urad dal & curry leaves
5.Fry till the seeds splutter, pour the tempering over the chutney mix well
6.Serve with dosa, pongal, idli or upma.
Variation:
•After grinding the ingredients, just before removing from the mixer, add chopped onions and run mixer for a second and remove.
•You will definetely love the crunchy taste of raw onions
•While tempering, you can add a few tomato pieces, fry till soft & add to ground chutney.
