Ribbon pakoda / ola pakoda is one of the popular snack vareity from south indian cuisine
Rice flour – 250 Gms,
Besan – 50 Gms,
Fried gram flour – 2 Tablesp,
(Hot) oil – 1 Tablesp,
Red chilli powder -'1/2 Tsp,
Hing – a pinch,
Ajwain – 1/2 Tsp,
White til – 1 Tablesp, ( optional ),
Oil – to deep fry,
1).Take rice flour in a mixing bowl, add besan, fried gram flour, salt, red chilli powder, hing, ajwain,til, and a tablesp of hot oil .Mix thoroughly with hand and prepare a soft and smooth dough by adding water in batches. Allow to rest for 10 minutes.
2).Heat oil in a wide kadai.Smear oil to the inner part of murukku mould and arrange the ribbon murukku plate into it.
3).Fill the dough in it and close it tightly. Press the murukku directly into hot oil and fry them under medium heat to golden colour.
4).Remove on to a kitchen paper to absorb excess oil if any. Make use of all the dough to prepare ribbon murukku.
