Cauliflower Patoli

Cauliflower Patoli.

Ingredients:

Cauliflower – About 300 Gms,

Red chillies – 7 to 8

Onion – 1,Medium,Sliced fine,(optional),

Channa dal – 2 Tablesp,

Toor dal – 2 Tablesp,(Soak both the dals and chillies for 20 min in hot water),

Haldi – 1/8 Tsp,

Salt,

Jeera – 1/2 Tsp,

Peeled garlic cloves – 6 to 8,

Hing – 1/8 Tsp,

Oil – 3 Tablesp,

Dhania Powder – 1/2 Tsp,

Mustard seeds – 1/4 Tsp,

Curry leaves – 8,

Chopped coriander leaves – 1 Tablesp,

Method:

1).Wash cauliflower thoroughly under running water to remove dust and insects.Separate it into small flowerettes and keep them immersed in water with little haldi and salt for 15 min,

2).Remove and keep them in hot water for 5 to 6 min.Drain and keep them aside,

3).Grind the dals with dhania powder,hing,garlic,jeera,haldi,chillies and salt into a course paste.

4).Heat oil,add mustard seeds and curry leaves.Fry for few seconds and add dal paste.Fry the paste underlow heat till it is lightly browned and gives nice aroma.Now add cauliflower pieces and mix well.cook the curry under low heat till cauliflower becomes tender and well mixed with dal paste,

5).Keep it on fire for another 2 min.so that the curry becomes a bit dry.

6).Serve this tasty fry as side dish.

Tip:

If you want to use onions add them along with curry leaves.
