Jeera Arbi / Colocasia / Chama dumpa(Telugu)
Ingredients:
Chama dumpa / Arbi – 250Gms
Jeera – 1/2Tablesp
Green Chilli Paste – 1/2Tsp
Chopped Coriander Leaves – 1Tablesp
Haldi – A pinch
Fried chana dal powder – 2Tsp
Salt
Curry Leaves – 6 to 8
Oil – 2 Tablesp
Method:
1).Wash arbi thoroughly and boil them in pressure cooker with little salt for 3 whistles
2).Let the steam escape and peel the arbi.Cut them into 1″cubes and keep them aside
3).Heat oil in a non stick pan,add jeera,chilli paste,haldi and curry leaves.Fry till nice aroma appears. Add the arbi pieces along with little salt.mix very well so that the masala nicely coats the arbi pieces.Fry arbi till light golden in colour
4).Before removing from fire spread fried dal powder over arbi pieces and toss the pan so that the dal powder nicely coats the pieces .
5).Garnish with chopped coriander .Serve as side dish for rice preparations/ as a starter
Tip:
Dusting the arbi pieces with fried dal powder will lesson the stickiness of arbi.This dish is a sure hit with kids (Avoid/reduce chilli paste for them)
