Jam Tarts

This is a very simple bakery item.
All purpose flour / maida – 1cup,
Margarine / butter – 4 Tablesp,
Baking powder – 1/2 Tsp,
Powdered sugar – 1 Tablesp,
Salt – A pinch,
Any jam like pineapple or mango or mixed fruit – 4 Tablesp,
Water to mix, preferably cold water,
1).seive flour, baking powder and sugar powder .Add 3 tablespoons of butter and mix thoroughly so that it resembles bread crumbs.
2).Prepare a soft dough.Devide the dough into two portions and prepare them into rectangular sheets of 1/8 Inch thicknes.
3).Preheat the oven at 180 degree C.
4).Smear the remaining melted butter over one sheet,sprinkle some flour and adjust the second one on it. Press the edges firmly and cut the sheet into 3″ sqares.
5).Put 3/4 to 1 tsp of Jam in the centre of sqare and gather all the four corners to press firmly in the centre.
6).prepare all the squares like this and bake them on greased tray at 180 degree C for 15 min.
7).serve them with tea. This tart is a sure hit with kids.
Check after 10 min of baking ,continue for few more minutes if necessary.
