This snack is crispy dry green peas vada.
Ingredients:
Dry green peas – 250 Gms,(soaked in water for 3 to 4 hrs.),
Raw rice – 1 Tablesp,
Onion – 1, medium,sliced fine,
Green chilli – 3,chopped fine,
Ginger – 1/2″ piece,chopped fine,
Salt,
Cinnamon – 1/4″ piece,crushed,
Cloves – 3,crushed,
Sompu – A pinch,
Chopped coriander – 2 Tablesp,
Chopped curry leaves – 6 to 8,
Oil to deep fry,
Method:
1).Grind peas and rice to a course paste along with salt.
2).Add remaining ingredients (except oil )to the above paste and run the mixie once or pulse it once.
3).No need to add water.Remove the dough into a bowl and mix well.
4).Make 2 and 1/2″ to 3″ diameter flat vada and fry them in hot oil under medium heat till light golden in colour.
5).Remove them on to a kitchen paper and serve them with any chutney.
Tip:
You can prepare this vada with fresh peas.But increase the rice content to 2 Tablesp.
