Raw Plantain Tikkies
Ingredients:
Raw Plantain-2,Medium
Onion-1,Medium,sliced fine
Green Chillies-2,Chopped fine
Red chilli powder-1/2Tsp
Channa Dal-3Tablesp(soaked for 15min)
Ginger and Garlic Paste-1/2Tsp
Dhania powder-3/4Tsp
Chopped coriander-1Tablesp
Garam Masala-1/2Tsp
Eggs-2,(only whites)
corn Flour-2Tablesp(make a paste with little water)
Salt
Haldi-1/8Tsp
Oil to Shallow Fry
Method:
1)Wash and cut plantain into two.Put them in cooker along with little salt and 1/2lit.water
2)put channa dal,dhania powder,chilli powder,garam masala, chillies and haldi in a tall stainless steel container
3)Arrange this container in cooker(preferbly 3 litres) keeping the plantain pieces by the side of it.(sprinkle very little water in the container)
4)Cook the plantain till 2to3 whistles.Remove cooker from fire and let it cool.
5)Remove the outer layer of plantain and mash it with potato masher. Keep it aside.
6).Take the contents of steel container in a mixie and grind it into a course paste.Add the mash with little salt and run the mixie for few sec.Keep it aside
7) Fry onion and ginger garlic paste in a tsp of oil and add this to ground mash along with coriander.Make round disks and keep them aside
8)Take whites of two eggs and blend with corn flour paste.
9)Dip the disks in this mixture and shallow fry on a flat tawa.(dusting with bread crumbs-optional)
10)Serve as an appetizer/side dish for rice preparations
11)Tip:
If you want to avoid egg, dip them in plain corn flour solution with a coating of bread crumbs.
