Sweet Melting Drops
Ingredients:
Urad dal with out husk-125Gms
Sugar-125Gms
Salt-A pinch
Elachi powder-1/4Tsp
Almond slivers+Cashew nut pieces-30Gms
Few Saffron threads(Optional)
Milk-1 and 1/2lit.
Ghee to deep fry
Method:
1)Soak urad dal for 2hrs.Drain water and grind it into a thick fine paste with a pinch of salt using minimum quantity of water.Keep it aside
2)Boil milk with sugar till it is reduced to 1/3rd of its original quantity.Add nuts along with elachi powder.Stir well and keep it aside
3)Pour the ground dal into a ziplock bag.Make a small hole in the corner.
4)With the help of ziplock bag,drop very small portions of dough into medium hot ghee (size of small gooseberry).Fry them till light golden in colour
5)Drop the balls into warm milk and serve after 15 min.
7)They can be served warm/chilled
8)These drops are a sure hit with kids as they are yummy and simply melt in the mouth.
Tip
You can also drop very small portions of dough into ghee with the help of fingers.
Do not soak the balls for more than 15 to20min as they become very soft and tend to break into pieces.
